MANAGER, PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS:

The Public, Legal and Corporate Affairs Branch is looking for a Manager, Public Consultations for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as an RÉ-06 ($83, 979 to $113, 423 per annum), salary under review.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director, Public and Corporate Affairs, the Manager Public Consultations plans and leads public consultations, community engagement and stakeholder relations for the Commission.

The individual develops digital participation approaches, analyzes data and makes recommendations to NCC executives and branches based on best practices and public feedback.

The Manager, Public Consultations manages the Public Consultation team, and liaises with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement policies, engagement activities, and consultation strategies.

The individual leads the Urbanism Lab programming and organizes public events including the Annual Public Meeting.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree in Public Affairs, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communication or another field related to the position.


EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five year's experience in Public Affairs or Consultation, as well as experience in the following areas.- Leading a team responsible for implementing public engagement activities.


  • Developing strategic plans to encourage public participation.
  • Managing the preparation of reports and briefing materials on projects and engagement activities.
  • Providing strategic advice to senior executives on Public and Corporate Affairs.

KNOWLEDGE

  • Of regulatory processes for public involvement.
  • Of professional policies, standards and principles related to public engagement.

ABILITIES

  • To lead and manage projects independently.
  • To deal with complex community concerns through presentations and participation in public meetings, open houses, interest groups and/or oneonone meetings.
  • To maintain a high degree of engagement, client service, tact and professionalism with a variety of stakeholder groups.
  • To communicate effectively orally and in writing in both official languages.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Possess or eligible to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Linguistic profile: Bilingual CCC.
  • The National Capital Commission offers a hybrid and flexible work environment, all employees are currently asked to work onsite at least two (2) days per week.

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships, leading dialogues, meetings or events with indigenous peoples.
  • Experience engaging with a diversity of groups through social media channels and using digital engagement tools.
