AMT Truck is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman with a sharp eye for detail and a great attitude to join our rapidly growing shop. We are looking a proven leader with great organizational skills, and someone who is comfortable leading a busy shop environment.
The primary duties include leading a shop of 4+ Heavy Duty technicians and apprentices, coordinating shop duties and changing on the fly as required, lead and mentor technicians for a safe shop environment, train and coach new technicians and apprentices.
Accountabilities
Quality Assurance:
- Ability to accurately diagnose vehicle system issues and repair effectively
- Ensure technician work quality maintained, and eliminate "bringbacks"
- Regular performance management of technicians
Time Management:
- Ensure work orders are scheduled, and completed on time
- Assisting with the completion of work orders as required
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and duties throughout the day
- Implement preventative maintenance schedule for fleet clients
Procurement:
- Cost effective part sourcing & shop supplies as required
- Coordinating pick up/drop off vehicles, parts & supplies
Resource Management:
- Inventory oversight
- Ensure technician work properly completed within time specifications
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
Customer Service:
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure service completed
- Ensure exceptional customer service maintained for Fleet Customers
- Repairing vehicle engines, steering, transmissions and braking systems.
- Maintaining knowledge for heavy duty vehicle systems.
- Diagnosing vehicle issues, and providing accurate solutions.
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
Mechanic Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering.
- Valid driver's license.
- Aptitude for mathematics and science.
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components.
- IT and diagnostic skills.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds.
- Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
Job Types:

Up to $110,000.00 per year
