Admissions Clerk, Office of Admissions:


Required Position:

Full-Time Appointment


Responsibilities:


  • Respond to inquiries from applicants, students, faculty and the general public;
  • Provide administrative services to the Admissions Officers, including answering telephone calls and inperson inquiries, handling mail, answering routine correspondence, typing correspondence, reports, and statistics, and maintaining files;
  • Input data on the Datatel Student Information System for applicants, for all Non-OUAC applicants.
  • Maintain a log of all incoming admission documents and sort, distribute, and file documents accordingly;
  • Initiate followup work on incomplete admissions issued to new and returning students;
  • Maintain uptodate files for all new applicants to Laurentian University and its Affiliated Colleges;
  • Correct Datatelerror reports for information download from OUAC;
  • Perform other duties directly related to this position as assigned.

Qualifications:

- year college certificate in office administration, or equivalent;
- to 5 years of related experience in a post-secondary institution;
- eExcellent typing skills;

  • Strong computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, and other related software) and advanced knowledge of the Datatel Student Information System;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, experience in customer service is an asset;
  • Strong organizational capabilities and ability to produce under pressure;
  • Comprehension of University policies and procedures;
  • Ability to work fluently, orally and in writing, in both official languages, French and English.
The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter hours per week.
