  • Steer is seeking an individual with a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Emme modeler in USA or Canada, who brings project management skills, to help grow our North American market.
We will provide support to guide your progress and provide business and technical training to support your career development. You will also have an opportunity to develop innovative solutions and grow our business

  • Work in complex transportation models and related analytical tasks using especially EMME and a range of other technical tools like CUBE and TransCAD;
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams during the execution of projects;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to provide highquality consulting and differentiated services to our clients;
  • Supervise and mentor junior members across Steer;
  • Provide training and sharing knowledge with the team; and
  • Contribute to effective project performance on both financial and behavioral measures.

Work Environment


All Steer employees seeking a full-time opportunity are encouraged to spend 60% of their time either in office or on-site with clients.

An employee's typical work week consists of 40 hours (37.5 for Canada). Hours, expectations, and exemption status will be determined for any applicant seeking a part-time opportunity.


Requirements:


  • Proven experience on the use of transportation modeling tools to support transportation consultancy;
  • Proven experience managing projects;
  • Advanced knowledge of EMME including writing fresh scripts, modifying existing scripts, working with inputs and outputs of the tool in all the stages generation, distribution, mode choice and assignment four stage modeling;
  • Excellent technical skills related to data analytics or technical analysis in the transportation sector
  • Experience with key technical tools commonly used in the transportation industry such as:
  • Network modeling (Emme, CUBE, TransCAD)
  • Spreadsheet modeling (Excel including VBA)
  • Statistical analysis (Python, R, Stata)
  • Knowledge of GIS software will be valuable
  • Relevant technical experience beyond demand modeling (e.g. transit planning, urban planning, major developments, CEQA & VMT, business cases etc.) will be valuable
  • Ability to probe, investigate, understand, explain and summarize model results and present those effectively, clearly, concisely and visually;
  • Ability to explain complicated concepts clearly and concisely;
  • Desire to collaborate and innovate with many different teams;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills;
  • An existing right to work in the United States and/or Canada; and
  • Proficiency in languages of other countries where Steer conducts business (especially Spanish or French), would be advantageous but are not required.
