About the Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB)


The recruitment of inaugural CSSB members is underway, with plans for a fully operational board by the end of June 2023.

The CSSB will work alongside Canada's existing accounting and assurance boards and liaise with the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

Within this context, CPA Canada's Standards Group seeks an Administrative Assistant, CSSB.

This role, which reports directly to the Vice President, Sustainability Standards, provides a unique and ground-breaking opportunity to shape future international and domestic sustainability standards.


The position offers the flexibility of remote work or a more traditional work option based out of any of CPA Canada's offices in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto or Burnaby.


About the opportunity
As an Administrative Assistant, you will support staff and members of the CSSB.

In doing so, you'll be an integral part of a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring that social and environmental matters are reflected in the decisions of capital markets and others.


What you'll do
In this role, you will provide administrative support to staff and members of the CSSB by:

  • Managing meeting and other event logistics, including arranging venues and catering
  • Coordinating and arranging travel itineraries and accommodations for staff and CSSB members and processing expense reports
  • Assembling meeting papers (prepared by others), performing a final quality review and circulating meeting packages in a timely fashion
  • Drafting and proofreading other internally
- and externally-facing material, including Microsoft PowerPoint presentations

  • Preparing and submitting internal compliance documents
  • Supporting the development and monitoring of the CSSB budget and related processes
  • Tracking and spotting opportunities to update CSSB reporting documents and website content
  • Nurturing relationships with interested and affected parties
  • Liaising with seniorlevel external contacts and staff
  • Coordinating and facilitating special projects, as needed.

What we're looking for

  • A passion for positively impacting the world in which we live
  • Postsecondary university degree in Business or equivalent experience and education
  • Three to five years of administrative experience
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with superior verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent proofreading ability with a keen eye for detail
