What is the Opportunity?
The Lead, Digital Product Owner at RBC Insurance plays a pivotal role for the organization as we redefine our digital product experience and emerge as an organization on the forefront of innovation and human-centered design.
The Product Owner is responsible for leading and/or supporting multiple agile teams to develop and deliver exceptional digital user experiences aimed at re-imagining our cross-channel Sales and Distribution (S&D) experience.
What will you do?
- Develop, design and refine a comprehensive and industry leading digital product experience for all our presales, sales and service needs, ensuring alignment with our business goals and user needs.
- Own the responsibility for building and reimagining the right S&D products/experience with the goal of increasing adoption, driving engagement and to be the voice of the enduser to the teams.
- Collaborate and liase with key business partners and stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc., to develop business cases and OKRs.
- Drive the planning of the product backlog on an agile release train or the release backlog for a group of autonomous/dependent teams for S&D and other journeys that you represent.
- Create/maintain and oversee program backlog and associated release roadmap(s) while articulating how features/functionality are intended to be implemented, alignment to OKRs and associated benefits/business growth (revenue, profitability targets, etc.).
- Identify opportunities for improvement/innovation and differentiation in our digital product design.
- Refine and prioritize the Program/Feature backlog, including nonfunctional requirements, on a regular basis in collaboration with the product owners such that it mitigates operational/technical/financial risk, accelerates team learning, achieves expected outcomes and optimizes the value of the work performed.
- Assist with evaluating business value achieved versus planned for the product to communicate to leadership & stakeholders.
- Assist with the decisionmaking that sets the architectural direction/chooses the agreed technology infrastructure that will host the new business functionality for products and product platforms.
- Work with the change management team to colead the efforts to ensure adoption and buyin for new product rollouts.
What will you need to succeed?
Must-Have
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner working in an agile environment representing the voice of the customer and building the right products.
- 5+ years of relevant progressive business experience, preferably within the financial industry/sales & distribution.
- 2+ years of working on highly complex initiatives.
- 3+ years of working knowledge of Salesforce Financial Services Cloud CRM technology.
- Strong communication and thought leadership skills, with the ability to influence and inspire crossfunctional teams.
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
