We are looking for an

Associate Manager, Reporting & Analytics


The Group Customer | Disability Solutions & Shared Services department is looking for a Disability Data & Analysis Associate Manager whose analytical mind and curious nature can lead a team through a variety of data and come out with a result on the other side.


As the leader of the Data Analytics team you will use your leadership capabilities, analytical skills, technical abilities and critical thinking mindset to prioritize and manage the work done by the team, as well as analyze data, look for trends, and provide insights and tools to help Group Customer Division understand and improve its Disability Solutions operations.

With a continuous improvement mindset, you will also refine existing analyses and explore new techniques to support the organization's decision makers.

What you will do:


Manage Team

  • People leader for the team
  • Prioritize work, ensure timely delivery of quality work
  • Provide guidance and support to the team
  • Set standards and enable the use of applicable tools, techniques, technologies, research methodologies and templates which help ensure relevance, timeliness and quality of the work delivered
  • Set the standard with the work you deliver (opportunity to do hands on work given small size of team)

Analyze, Report and Present Disability Morbidity Results

  • Provide regular trending and variance analyses to support understanding of disability morbidity KPI's
  • Work with Group Customer Division partners to leverage various data sources and provide insights on operational impacts to financial earnings
  • Complete complex requests received from senior management to provide insight on business performance

Disability Analytics Research

  • Partner with business leaders and actively seek out and identify areas of opportunity to provide advanced analytical solutions
  • Utilize project management skills to plan, execute and deliver on a variety of analytical projects
  • Follow the analytics lifecycle to design, develop and maintain advanced analytical models
  • Maintain and improve the quality of our data by performing data profiling on key data sources
  • Provide guidance and recommendation on the development of new data sources that would be used by multiple teams across the division
  • Partner with other technical teams across the division to support Divisional data initiatives

Providing Insights and Present the Data Story

  • Communicate and illustrate observations, results and recommendations in a creative and audience appropriate manner
  • Present findings/observations of analyses and performance/output of analytics models to senior management

Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in any head office locations, however Winnipeg would be preferred.

What you will bring:


  • 5+ years of applied analytical, problem solving and decisionmaking experience
  • Post-Secondary education with a familiarity of Data Science and/or Statistical concepts
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel, Access and Powerpoint
  • Expertise or experience with Data Mining, Data Visualization and Data Modeling tools such as: SQL, Python/R, Power BI, Tableau etc.
  • Knowledge of group insurance and the disability product is considered an asset
  • Experience in planning and managing projects
  • Welldeveloped organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with ability to tailor message to the audience
  • Experience managing a team is considered an asset
