PACE provides education and training for adult learners during the day and evening in a wide variety of part-time and full-time program areas, including Professional Studies, Information Technology, Educational Assistant Program, Executive and Corporate training.


Responsibilities:


  • Provides career coaching and feedback to students and alumni on job search strategies, networking strategies, resume and cover letter development, interview performance, and how to access and interpret labour market information
  • Develops and facilitates career and employmentrelated workshops, presentations, and information sessions for students and alumni for in person and virtual delivery
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements an annual calendar of workshops, events and services targeting career resources and services
  • Interprets and applies current best hiring practices to inform the administration of career services and activities
  • Facilitates information sessions for students, external agencies and employers to increase awareness and facilitate networking opportunities for students
  • Liaises between internal and external stakeholders, builds partnerships, and collaborates with industry partners to develop employment opportunities for students
  • Conducts research and creates training materials for career/employmentrelated mock interviews
  • Administers and maintains online employment resource platforms
  • Provides reports regarding service delivery and employment statistics of students and alumni accessing the service and employment outcomes following use of career services

Qualifications:


  • An undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Education or Human Resource Management.
  • At least three (3) years of progressively successful and directly related employment and career coaching experience, including providing feedback on job search strategies, networking strategies, resume and cover letter development, interview performance, informational interviews, and use of labour market information.
  • Experience with Career Software Platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), website development and/or content management systems, databases, social media, blogs, AI in job search.
  • Experience providing coaching on using social media and online resources as it relates to job searching (i.e., LinkedIn), job maintenance, career progression, workplace safety, employment standards, and workplace culture.
  • Experience organizing and promoting career and employment focused programming and events, including workshops, presentations, panel/guest speaker discussions, networking events, and career fairs.
  • Experience developing and facilitating inperson and virtual workshops, training, and orientation sessions for smalltolarge audiences.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including international students, Indigenous students, students with disabilities and those facing barriers to employment success is preferred.
  • Experience connecting with industry professionals and building mutually beneficial partnerships across labour markets.
  • Requires excellent computer and navigation skills with the ability to learn complex software systems
  • Experience using communication tools, learning technologies, website content management systems, event planning and MS Office
  • Ability to think strategically and able to formulate an annual calendar of career services and events.
  • Strong leadership and teambuilding skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in managing risk in situations.
  • Excellent communication skills required, including presentation skills, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Career Development Practitioner Certificate (CDPC), Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, Certificate in Adult Education, or Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and requirements would be considered an asset.

An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • This position may be required to work flexible hours, evenings and/or weekends.
**The salary range for this position will be from $53,398.80 to $74,019.40 annually.
