Role Overview:


Reporting into the Executive Director, Corporate Partnerships, the Manager, Sponsorship & Cause Marketing contributes to the achievement of our mission and meets annual revenue requirements.

The Manager will solicit funds that advance existing partnerships and pursue new corporate partners that can significantly impact the long-term success of Diabetes Canada's Corporate Fund Development program.

This position plays an important role as part of the national team in a coordinated and cross-functional manner to support fundraising for mission programs.


Location:


This role includes, but not limited to:

  • Identify trends in business development opportunities and implement solicitation plans to achieve new partnership commitments across sectors and via multiple funding channels (sponsorship, cause marketing, gift-in-kind)
  • Coordinate with DC Marketing and Communications and other organizational stakeholders to identify opportunities to collaborate to help build new cause marketing assets
  • Stay current on consumer trends, and best practices in cause marketing, retail, digital and corporate sponsorship; convert insights into actionable programs and new revenue streams.
  • Define accountspecific strategies that deepen partner engagement with DC and foster mutually beneficial, sustainable, missioncentered partnerships
  • Collaborate and develop positive working relationships and partnerships with national and regional teams to cultivate opportunities for national sponsorship and achieve organizational goals
  • Maintain accurate, professional, and current records, on corporate prospects, sponsors and supporters through our customer relationship management (CRM) system and other shared drives
  • Contribute to research profiles and build briefing reports about specific corporate prospects and target sector growth opportunities
  • Ensure 100% partner satisfaction through thoughtful stewardship and proactive customer service
  • Maintain and expand base of corporate partner relationships through ongoing communication and solicitation as appropriate; ensure timely renewals and continued partnership annual growth
  • Leverage opportunities for hightouch, customized partner stewardship and impact reports
  • Postsecondary degree preferably in business, communication, marketing or other relevant area; or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years' experience in nonforprofit corporate fundraising, corporate sponsorship, or sales/marketing.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills including impactful presentation delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven influential/persuasive abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the corporate, philanthropic and sponsorship environments within a national health organization; including principles and techniques of Fund Development.
  • Strong selling and negotiating skills with proven ability to "close the deal".
  • Experience in CRM software
  • Program development experience an asset
