What is the suggested role?
The Functional Safety Specialist will have the opportunity to assist the Advanced Engineering group in meeting the requirements of the ISO26262 automotive safety standard.
You will be responsible for the analysis (HARA, FSC, etc.), development process and assisting stakeholders in the design, execution and testing of functional safety aspects.
With a solid knowledge of the ISO26262 standard, you will help the team move in the right direction in terms of functional safety of components and vehicles.
You will also contribute to the development of cyber security by proposing new measures to be adopted in the framework of the ISO21434 standard.
In your daily routine, you will have to:
- Lead the design and test teams to ensure that they produce the correct ISO26262 work products.
- Review the work products of the different teams to ensure that they are adequate.
- Collaborate with different departments within the company to ensure that actions taken are consistent with MSDS and cybersecurity.
- Proposes strategies to develop a clear MSDS and cybersecurity work process.
- Identifies areas for improvement and proposes solutions (gap analysis).
- Any other related tasks.
What you need to succeed in this position:
Knowledge
- Bilingualism (English/French);
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 and 21434 standards.
Skills
- Have a sense of urgency and be proactive;
- Solution oriented;
- Good communicator and team player.
- Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness;
- Analytical skills and attention to detail.
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or computer engineering;
- 3 to 5 years experience in functional safety;
- Experience with Vdevelopment processes for systems, hardware and software (requirements, design, implementation, verification, testing);
- ISO26262 competency certification (TÜV, SGS, UL), an asset.
