    Role Summary


    The Financial Reporting team is responsible for Magna's global internal and external financial close process, including the quarterly preparation of Magna's complex public company financial statements, management's discussion & analysis and related regulatory filings. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the monthly and quarterly financial close process.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the preparation of complex public company quarterly and annual financial statements, management's discussion & analysis and supporting schedules
    • Assist in the preparation of Audit Committee and Board of Directors quarterly finance presentations and supporting schedules
    • Assist in the monthly and quarterly financial close process including:
      • Liaise with multiple reporting units to resolve issues arising during the close process
      • Reconciliation / analysis of key financial statement accounts
      • Consolidation of reporting unit schedules
      • Preparation and maintenance of certain consolidation reporting schedules
    • Document accounting guidance for tax driven reorganizations and liaise with impacted reporting units to ensure the accounting guidance is appropriately applied
    • Assist in completion of compliance reporting requests
    • Maintain an ongoing detailed understanding of the company's financial performance
    • Support the Manager, Financial Reporting with ad-hoc requests and special projects

    Key Qualifications/Requirements


    Knowledge and Education

    • University degree
    • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

    Work Experience

    • 1-5 years post designation work experience
    • Financial reporting experience at a large public company or public accounting firm an asset
    • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office and other financial applications such as Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) an asset
