Position:
Resource Staff - Assistant Teacher - supporting children one on one with behavioral or medical needs

Courtice - Worden Public School -7:30am - 9:00am
Oshawa - Sunset Heights Public School - 2:00pm - 6:00pm

Status:
Part Time / Monday to Friday - Split Shift

Position to start September 5, 2023

Hourly Rate:
$18.45 per hour plus $2/hour in a Provincial Wage Enhancement grant for regular hours worked.

Ensure the safety and well being of children with high needs
Early childhood educator assistants perform some or all of the following duties:
Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
Assist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
Consultation to programs regarding ideas to facilitate the success of all children in the program.
Other duties as required by the Director of the centre
Experience with exceptionalities is an asset (ie: autism spectrum disorder, behaviours)
Before and After School Program setting (September-June) Potential for more hours during the summer months, school holidays and breaks.
