Reporting to the City Clerk, you will provide a broad range of support and advice related to legislative and governance matters; assist in the research and preparation of council resolutions, by-laws, reports, policies and procedures, correspondence, council agendas and minutes, and; assist with records management oversight. You will also respond to public inquiries and requests, participate in risk management and licensing and act in the absence of the Clerk.

With post-secondary education in public administration, political science or business administration, you have three years of progressively responsible experience in a municipal clerk's environment. You have broad knowledge of municipal legislation and administration, parliamentary procedure, municipal elections, licensing, corporate records/information management, and customer service.You are an organized professional, demonstrating sound judgment, integrity and trust. An effective communicator, you possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills, able to coordinate and manage workloads, deal with conflicting demands, and concentrate on work requirements under pressure to meet competing deadlines. Attendance at evening meetings is a requirement.

The position offers a salary of $85,421.01 – $99,915.78, based on 35 hours per week, plus competitive benefits.

***This is a temporary full-time role which will last up to 15 months.
