We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Security Technology Operations Analyst to join our Enterprise Security organization. In the role, you would be responsible for implementing, and maintaining NOVA Chemicals' systems security technologies. You would play a key role in protecting the company's sensitive data and systems from security threats.

You will be responsible for contributing to the success of our security operations practice in ensuring our security platforms are operating effectively to protect our information systems against evolving threats.

You will collaborate closely with our governance, risk and compliance, incident response and threat management teams.


This position can be located at any of the following NOVA Chemicals locations: Calgary, Alberta; Red Deer, Alberta; or Sarnia, Ontario.


You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Provide daily operational support with Palo Alto firewall security policies, configuration updates, firewall rules review, and new features implementation.
Provide daily operational support, monitoring, and resolution of Palo Alto Prisma Access platform.

Identify security control delivery gaps resulting from technology capabilities, perform upgrades, and lifecycle management to enhance our network and system security posture.

Support implementation efforts in cross-functional or strategic projects.
Collaborate with security service providers to ensure working process and procedure alignment.

Collaborate with other security teams to ensure seamless integration of security solutions to align security risk and compliance requirements and drive improved security threat management.

Provide support for security incident response and investigations as needed.


What We Are Looking For:


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 8+ years related experience in a cybersecurity role or equivalent and continued professional development OR 12+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience in a cybersecurity role with continued professional development.

Strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewall, and prisma access management.
Experience in Microsoft Defender including Endpoint, Office 365, Cloud.
Exposure to scripting skills in languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
Strong documentation skills for documenting processes.
Experience with OT/ICS environments is an asset.
Knowledge of cyber security frameworks.

Additional Information:

Relocation will be considered to the nearest geographical NOVA Chemicals' location for this position
Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
This role requires up to 0-10% travel
