Description
We are currently seeking a VP, Digital Transformation & Pod Lead to join our team.

This role translates multiple technology and operational components into comprehensive digital transformation initiatives for internal and member facing needs. Works with the CTO and IT Leadership Team to drive results for all technology and Agile initiatives.

Participates as a member of the Agile Enterprise Leadership team providing leadership to the Digital Transformation pod and ensuring the achievement and successful delivery of owned and shared business outcomes of the squads within.

Develops and executes on member facing and internal digital transformation and technology strategies.

Works within a highly collaborative Agile structure spanning across 3 pods and with various Centers of Excellence (COEs) leading and supporting all initiatives.

Works with key external partners within technology, financial services and other credit union system entities.


Here's what would be included as a part of your typical day

Optimize Delivery:Develops and executes on member facing digital and technology strategies (includes digital banking, mobile banking, payments modernization, digital ID, and open banking) and internal digital transformation strategies (includes process automation, CRM and integrated 'digital first' experiences within systems). Translates strategy into objectives and key results, high-level requirements, and work items for product roadmaps for squads to plan and execute. Ensures all quarterly commitments are prioritized and aligned to organizational priorities and that the squad iteration/sprint goals roll up to quarterly commitments. Works with product owners and scrum masters to manage the alignment of squad priorities, interdependencies, and capacity. Identifies and eliminates misaligned work through ongoing communication and optimizes pod velocity, recommending changes as required. Attends quarterly business reviews to reassess strategic priorities. Working with various SMEs and partners, develops and implements frictionless digital experiences within member journeys spanning all service delivery channels.

Agile Leadership:Provides leadership to pods and squads, driving engagement and empowerment to optimize squad velocity and sprint goal delivery. Through participation in key agile ceremonies, enables key decisions, alignment of priorities across squads, management of risk and interdependencies and removal of barriers. Fosters an enterprise mindset by breaking down silos to drive collaboration across organizational boundaries. Provides coaching and development to team members through empowerment and guidance. Establishes annual/quarterly goals and objectives and assesses performance of direct reports.

Planning and Stakeholder Engagement:Collaborates with key stakeholders to realize the delivery of member value, negotiating priorities in alignment with strategic objectives. Interfaces with chapter leads, COEs and senior advisors in the early stages of planning to ensure optimal allocation of chapter resources, appropriate levels of involvement from experts to achieve goals and organizational requirements. Early identification and engagement of required COE support through the evolution of Agile Quarterly Planning and other scaling ceremonies. Ensures that work flows through the required intake and prioritization process and educates the organization on this process. Ongoing collaboration with business units to ensure pod and squad work linkages to enterprise strategies and OKRs; supports the creation of OKRs through the sharing of insights and regular updates to the FWLT.

Measure Impact:Monitors and measures pod and squad results to ensure optimal delivery and enable course corrections as required. Reports on pod progress and other key updates to executives and key stakeholders to enable real-time, informed decision making and balancing of needs with Agile goals.

Budgeting, Vendor and Supply Chain Management:Prepares, monitors, and manages the division budget within area of responsibility. Manages strategic vendor, contractor, and third-party relationships in the area of functionality (roadmaps) and services. Explores new vendor relationships, manages strategic partnerships and contract agreements.

Risk Management:Manages technological risk ensuring alignment with First West's technology strategy. Identifies risks, opportunities, and inter-dependencies through collaboration with the appropriate COE to enable the development of necessary controls and mitigation of exposures. Leads weekly Cross-Pod Risk Ceremony to ensure work is sequenced appropriately across squads and delivery risk is visualized and managed.
