    Description

    In this role, you will support our drafting, engineering and project management staff by processing, distributing and filing documentation such as fabrication and construction drawings. Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

    • Setting up electronic project folders, and maintaining project documentation within project filing requirements.
    • Supporting tracking and controlling the project initiation, revision and completion process.
    • Checking the accuracy and revision of drawings and documents received.
    • Receiving, logging and electronically filing drawings and documentation.
    • Interfacing with the project team to coordinate the control of documentation.
    • Generating transmittal to send documentation to external parties through electronic or hard copy means.
    • Expediting the review of internal and external documentation within drafting/engineering departments.
    • Releasing steel and steel deck requisitions to the shop in support of the drafting/engineering departments. Printing identification tags for specialty projects.
    • Printing construction drawings for the shipping department.
    • Generating and sending warranty letters to external customers.
    • Assisting Project Management team with general project-related duties such as sequencing of projects, and other routine tasks.
    • Assisting with lunch and absence coverage for the office Receptionist.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
    Qualifications
    • Possess a strong sense of urgency to prioritize work assignments and multitask.
    • Utilize strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
    • Accuracy and extreme attention to detail is a must.
    • Ability to think analytically and make sound decisions.
    • Forward-thinking and demonstrate initiative to contribute to efficient processes.
    • Willingness to understand the full project process.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work well with others as a team as well as independently.
    • Experience with maintaining and administering electronic documents and records management.
    • Basic knowledge of construction and engineering terminology would be an asset.
    • Experience working with and an understanding of construction drawings and documentation would be considered an asset.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
