Youth Worker (Youth Summer Program Assistant)
(Full-time Contract from June 16, 2023 to September 1, 2023)

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a national non-profit organization, based in the Greater Toronto Area.

Newcomers need linguistically-appropriate assistance and culturally-sensitive support and CCS delivers programs and services in thirty languages to address these gaps, assisting clients to confidently navigate the labour market, school and health care systems.

What you'll get to do:

Assist with designing a robust summer activity plan for newcomer youth yrs. old) to include learning in the areas of settlement, arts, skill development, Mental Health and Wellness and recreation.
Support staff in building community and city connections for collaboration and sourcing free activities for youth
Facilitate arts, sports and other recreational and skill building activities for youth
Assist with organizing daily program activities including organizing supplies for activities.
Provide administrative support to other summer activities in the program

What you need to know/have:

Ability to work with diverse teams.
Knowledge and understanding of language barriers and cultural challenges faced by newcomer individuals in vulnerable communities.
Good English language communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Dari or/and Farsi is considered an asset
Effective verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills for efficient program design.
Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate work ethics in alignment with CCS core values.

Location:
Scarborough

Hours: 35 per week

Compensation:
$15.50 per hour
