Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Logistics Coordinator, the incumbent is responsible for maintenance material for internal Maintenance staff.
Performs cycle counts and inventories; receives, identifies, bins and distributes materials to the Maintenance Stores locations; arranges, assembles and maintains parts bins, shelving, racking and labelling in the Maintenance Stores locations.
ExperienceTwo years' experience in receiving, stock replenishment and issuance of materials in a high volume, fast paced storeroom setting of a large Facilities Maintenance Environment required.
Experience with the use of a computerized material and inventory control system required.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
Knowledge of computerized inventory system training required.
Computer training in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office required.
Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) acts required.
Training in use and inspection of Fall Protection Equipment preferred.
Customer service/Facilities Help Desk training preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
Must possess or obtain a current certificate from the Manitoba Safety Council for use of powered material handling equipment (e.g. power jack).
TDG required or must be obtained within a reasonable time period upon employment.
Certification on inspection and recertification of fall arrest equipment preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
Working knowledge of the different types of materials and equipment used by the trades working within a maintenance area (i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate effectively in English (written and oral) required.
Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.
Accurate filing and record keeping skills are required.Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to take initiative and work independently with mínimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Good physical and mental health and manual dexterity required.
Demonstrated ability to work under stressful working conditions and to prioritize working responsibilities effectively in a time efficient manner.
Position involves lifting and moving heavy equipment, walking, bending and stretching.
Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions in Shared Health that combine to equal more than 1.0 FTE.
