    Description

    Role Overview: The Director, Finance, based in our Toronto office, will provide leadership and oversight to the accounting function of the Company and provide support to the broader global finance team.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting, including performance metrics and KPIs to support decision-making and present insightful reports to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Lead the financial audit process and manage relationships with external auditors.
  • Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead the quarterly reporting processes in compliance with US and Canadian securities regulations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on complex technical accounting issues per IFRS standards.
  • Research, analyze, implement new and existing accounting and reporting pronouncements, utilizing authoritative guidance, and determining external disclosure requirements.
  • Provide technical accounting training to finance and accounting teams, ensuring a strong understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of financial systems, processes, and controls to streamline reporting and increase efficiency.
  • Assist with month-end close activities as needed.
  • Assist in special projects and initiatives as required.
  • Skills, knowledge and experience requirement

  • CPA or equivalent designation
  • 10+ years' progressive experience in accounting
  • Mining industry knowledge
  • Public company reporting experience under IFRS
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team
  • Exceptional communication skills and emotional intelligence
  • Experience with SAP, Power BI, consolidation tools considered an asset
