Company Information
We are looking for an optical sensor assembly and test technician to work at our Burnaby headquarters, starting as soon as possible.
Position Summary
The optical fiber sensor assembly and test technician position is responsible for constructing and testing Osensa products following complex assembly and calibration procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble fiber optic temperature sensors and extension cables, includes cleaving, bonding, and polishing.
- Test and calibrate fiber optic sensors and electronic assemblies.
- Inspect and test completed products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, modify and repair of assemblies as required.
- Assist with QC at various stages of the production process including reporting nonconformances.
- Participate in training and certification programs to upgrade job knowledge and skill set.
- Participate in all teamlevel quality improvement initiatives, 5S and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve assembly processes and achieve production goals.
- Update documentation for various manufacturing processes when required.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
The following are required:
- High school graduate plus at least two years of technical college, such as BCIT.
- Attention to detail in ensuring that quality and efficiency standards are met or exceeded.
- Excellent hand/eye coordination with good vision and color distinction.
- Selfmotivated and selfdirected with an ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Be a team player and work well with others.
- Previous experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with basic principles of fiber optic cables.
- Hands on manufacturing skills such as fiber optical cable cleaving and stripping, optical lens bonding, electronic components soldering and crimping.
- Familiar with ISO9001 system and 5S principles.

$23.00-$27.00 per hour
