Position Summary


The Youth Program Coordinator Assistant performs administrative support tasks and assists in organizing programs and activities under the Youth Program Coordinator's supervision.


Responsibilities include monitoring expenditures and schedules, preparing and processing documents, handling calls and correspondence, creating requests and proposals, communicating with vendors and suppliers, and updating records.

The Assistant must also assist staff in various tasks and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide daytoday administrative and operational support for Tunngasugit's Youth Programs.
  • Manage purchasing and tracking of expenses within the parameters of annual budget.
  • Create flyers, posters, brochures for various programs.
  • Publish programming and events on Tunngasugit's website and social media accounts.
  • Create registration forms and register youth for programs.
  • Maintain membership database.
  • Track attendance and participation data for events, measuring program impact.
  • Provide onsite assistance for community events including annual events held on evenings and weekends.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of materials as well as the physical setup of events.
  • Assist in scheduling volunteer, elders and instructors for events.
  • Manage and organize an inventory of early childhood books and other educational materials.
  • With experience, assistant may be asked to lead programs or events hosted by Tunngasugit.
  • Maintain confidential information in alignment with the Tunngasugit's confidentiality standards.
  • Assist with preparing materials for class activities and daily learning in the various programs.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Works as a team player.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Must have proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as the Google Suite of products.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
  • Superb time management.
  • Ability to take direction and follow through on instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and see tasks through to completion with mínimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact appropriately with colleagues, partners and the public in different contexts.
  • Understanding of the Winnipeg Inuit community.
  • Knowledge of Inuit culture, language, and willingness to learn more.
