|About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, the Procurement Coordinator understands Payments Canada's strategies and priorities, translates them into needs, and integrates the information into procurement strategies and actions in support of business unit objectives.
The incumbent will manage and coordinate procurement related activities for an identified set of business owners, for both tactical and strategic procurement of goods and services.
|What You'll Do
The procurement function is a customer-focused approach that is responsible and accountable for leading, planning, conducting, and controlling all aspects of procurement initiatives and ensures these activities are in compliance with current policies and guidelines.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Support the procurement process and execute day-to-day procurement functions including: reviewing purchase requisitions and executing purchase orders, entering vendor data into our financial system, and monitoring and reporting on the status of purchases;
- Maintain purchase data for analysis and reporting;
- Assist in the approval, qualification, and selection of suppliers by identifying, researching, and evaluating suppliers based on Payment Canada's processes.
- Suggest improvements to procurement related processes in order to maintain efficiency, reduce risk, improve internal controls and reduce costs.
- Assist with the preparation, analysis, and negotiation of various procurement processes including Negotiated Requests for Proposals (NRFP), Request for Information (RFI), and Request for Quotation (RFQ).
- Postsecondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a procurement coordination and contract management role;
- Experience in project coordination and administration duties.
- Procuring Information Technology materials and services is considered an asset;
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
