    Seed Technology Summer Associate

    Working Model: Onsite

    Location: Saskatoon, SK

    Where the Chemistry Happens...


    Accountable to the Seed Technology Manager, This position is responsible for research studies in seed and plant physiology with the goal of improving InVigor canola production, processing, and agronomy.

    Formula for Success: You Will...

    • Perfom microscopic analysis of seeds and sorting.
    • Do basic greenhouse work: watering, planting, harvest, clean up. Lifting 10-15lbs.
    • Do crossing of canola plants. You may need to wear a face mask.
    • Maintain laboratory records.
    • Work based on the research need. 40 hrs a week, but some days are longer, some are shorter, and some sampling is on weekends.
    • Help if Field Sampling is needed. Field work is outside and includes bugs, dusty, wind, and weather.
    • Do laboratory and greenhouse clean-up.
    • Help the team as needed.

    Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...

    • Knowledge of plant science (Highly recommended, preference given to university students in plant science, agriculture, biology, biochemistry, environmental science, etc)
    • Punctuality and the ability to work both independent and on a team is expected.
    • Comfortable working with, and around, chemicals in a laboratory setting. WHIMIS training given.
