Built on robust municipal, environmental, land development and structural engineering services, our team of professionals throughout Ontario, have a strong legacy of providing sound technical advice and innovative solutions for our private and public sector clients.

We are a growing company. We need enhanced Human Resources to support our long term plan. The firm is comprised of seven offices and over 220 full-time staff within southern Ontario.

As the Human Resources Manager, you will be a key part of nurturing and strengthening our organizational culture while demonstrating our core values.

Reporting to the CEO, the Human Resources Manager leads all aspects of HR across all offices.

This influential and energetic leader will be able to hire and mentor a team of HR professionals and be responsible for providing strategic HR leadership in all HR areas including Health and Safety, Recruitment, Leadership and Organizational Development, HR Performance Metrics/Dashboards, Benefits, Compliance and HR Technology.


Business Partnership:


  • Lead the overall Human Resources function and mentor the Human Resources team
  • Support the leadership team in developing a culture that embraces diversity, inclusion and respect in the workplace
  • Develop talent acquisition initiatives focused on active and passive recruiting strategies
  • Understand the business and its challenges to help address the organization and people needs including organizational structures, organizational effectiveness, and team and individual performance
  • Develop strong partnerships and act as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees
  • Support and contribute to the development of leadership through focused development strategies, including talent and performance management

Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement:


  • Manage employee branding and value proposition initiatives
  • Develop talent strategies that identify and develop top performers to grow talent from within the team
  • Spearhead employee engagement surveys
  • Lead the development and delivery of companywide programs, related to attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining top talent
  • Champion employee development and drive leadership succession planning
  • Empower the team to organize employee appreciation events
  • Manage the endtoend recruitment & selection process
  • Prepare offer letters and employment agreements
  • Facilitate employee orientation processes in support of onboarding success of new hires

Human Resources & Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Create and maintain HR Policy and Procedures
  • Oversee the Health and Safety programs and all related projects. Ensure safety first, and that any incidents or investigations are managed properly
  • Ensure compliance regarding regulations and laws by executing necessary policies and procedures. (e.g., WSIB, OSHA, ,etc.)
  • Ensure all files, policies and back up are kept well organized, easily accessible and up to date

Performance Management/Succession Planning:


  • Evaluate job requirements and expectations, managing performance standards through defined job descriptions; create succession plans with employees as deemed appropriate
  • Ensure performance reviews are conducted on a consistent basis
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve employee relations issues that foster collaboration and improved performance

What you will need:


  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, and at least 5 years of proven success at a management level of a growing company
  • CHRL Designation considered an asset
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Canadian employment law and related legislation
  • Relationship builder with the ability to foster trust and to influence decision making at all levels
  • Has demonstrated the ability and passion to coach, motivate, direct, mentor and develop a team of HR professionals identifying the best people for various positions
  • Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas including health and safety, talent sourcing, compensation and employee engagement
  • Has a "handson" style; is focused on achieving desired results
  • Creates an environment where people enjoy working hard towards achieving the mission, including creating an environment of fun and celebration while delivering results
