Summary:
The Budget Officer will be responsible for collecting, updating, tracking, monitoring and analyzing cost and performance for each operation regions and headquarters; seeking ways to improve accuracy of budgets and forecasts, and to decrease the cost of assigned projects; preparing reports and providing financial feedback to the management team.
Responsibilities:
- Track and monitor the cost data, ensuring the data is up to date and accurate
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate operation regions and departments
- Calculate and track payrolls, utility, tax and other bills
- Determine standard cost and investigate variances with actual costs
- Analyze any changes in services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost
- Assist in preparing detailed monthly expense reports, including breakdowns of costs, and opportunities to increase efficiency for each operation regions
- Assist with the annual budgeting process to ensure that regular costs for all operations and expansion are determined in accordance with budget constraints
- Draw up and keep track of the budgets
- Suggest costreducing or profitable solutions in all operations
- Prepare the forecasted financial statements and analysis reports
- Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as new branch establishment, storage and labour usage etc.
- Analyze current and past cost financial data and performance reports to support senior management decisionmaking
- Response to special requests for financial data and analysis, or other information from senior management
- Keep all financial statements, journal entries, checks and invoices in a secure environment
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
- At least a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or finance analyzing
- Registered or working towards a CPA designation or equivalent considered as an asset
- Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedure, also organizational accounting concepts
- Familiar with QuickBook Online
- Excellent organizational, research and interpersonal skills
- Proven analytical skills and problem solving skills
- Proficient at creating accurate and logical reports
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel or similar software
Language:
Fluent in English
Compensation:
Annual salary:
$56,160 - $60, /h)
Terms of employment:
Full-time; permanent
Working hours:
5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Vacation:
4% of your annual gross salary as the vocation pays and 2 weeks of vacation time per year upon completion of 12 months of consecutive employment.
