    Job Overview

    Reporting to the Accounting Lead, as the Junior Property Accountant you support accounting activities for assigned properties and processes full-cycle accounting for smaller properties. You will also assist Accountants with accounting activities/services.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting Property Accountants with accounts payable. Maintaining email, uploading invoices into Yardi, coding vendor invoices, and assisting with weekly cheque runs.
  • Assisting Property Accountants with accounts receivables. Processing tenant deposits, completing daily banking requirements (including trips to bank).
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements, tenant ledger reconciliations, annual budgets and year-end reporting.
  • Processing full cycle accounting for smaller properties. Reconciling general ledger accounts including prepaids, sundry A/R, suspense, and accrued liabilities.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of purchase order system and filing of accounting documents electronically.

  • Essential Requirements

  • Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting related experience in the Property Management industry.
  • Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
  • Proficient in all areas of Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint), accounting systems and property management software (Yardi).
