Accounting Officer - Toronto, Canada - Vault Credit Corporation

Vault is a non-bank private mortgage lending company. We have a progressive, friendly work environment and a culture of growth. We are looking for a hard-working Accounting Officer to join our dynamic team.
This is a hands-on position and the individual will be exposed to various aspects of a private mortgage lending company.
Responsibilities:
- Cash receipt entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations
- Loan set up in dedicated loan management software
- Internal department queries and problem solving
- Calculate monthly loan payments, verify third party calculations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Account payment histories
- Tax remittances
- Compile and distribute daily management reports
- Compliance reporting
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
- Keep information confidential
- Other accounting duties that management may require
- Relevant university degree or college diploma combined with two years of work experience
- Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, policies and procedures and budgeting methods
- Detail orientated, with excellent organizational and follow up skills
- Ability to produce and manage daily management reporting requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Energetic team player with ability to work independently
- Proficient to advanced in Excel and proficient in Microsoft Word
- Knowledge of Great Plains, QuickBooks and/or Mortgage Office is an asset
