Description

Vault is a non-bank private mortgage lending company. We have a progressive, friendly work environment and a culture of growth. We are looking for a hard-working Accounting Officer to join our dynamic team.

This is a hands-on position and the individual will be exposed to various aspects of a private mortgage lending company.

You will be responsible for working within a dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

Cash receipt entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and account reconciliations
Loan set up in dedicated loan management software
Internal department queries and problem solving
Calculate monthly loan payments, verify third party calculations and resolve any discrepancies.
Account payment histories
Tax remittances
Compile and distribute daily management reports
Compliance reporting
Reconcile bank statements and general ledgers
Keep information confidential
Other accounting duties that management may require

Skills Knowledge & Experience

Relevant university degree or college diploma combined with two years of work experience
Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, policies and procedures and budgeting methods
Detail orientated, with excellent organizational and follow up skills
Ability to produce and manage daily management reporting requirements
Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks simultaneously.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Energetic team player with ability to work independently
Proficient to advanced in Excel and proficient in Microsoft Word
Knowledge of Great Plains, QuickBooks and/or Mortgage Office is an asset
