About our team:

We are starting a new team composed of a mixture of experienced EA/EA SPORTS employees and new talent from across industries.

With some of the most valuable sports IP in the world, and the resources EA has to offer, we have access to the capabilities needed to deliver amazing new experiences for an expanded audience of players worldwide.


Your Responsibilities:

The Technical Artist is a bridge between the artists and engineers.

They are considered part of the art team and work closely with artists, project managers, SEs and the Technical Art team.

The main areas of responsibilities include art production workflows, tools, pipelines, asset optimization/integration and shader development.

TAs are expected to assume ownership over any technical issues that arise on their project and bring them to resolution.

You can be from an Art, Design, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science background; however you must demonstrate a comfort level in working with both art and science.

Technical Artists report to Technical Art Directors on the EA SPORTS team.


Your Qualifications:


  • Ideally at least 3 years of cinematic/games production experience.
  • A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field is desired.
  • Effective at communicating with different audiences: artists, engineers, managers.
  • Experience scripting/programming in python and C#. (C++ is a bonus, but is not required).
  • Knowledge of 3D art packages (Maya).
  • A solutionsprovider, particularly as it pertains to testing and debugging technical issues.
  • A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems; the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations.

If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.


HOURLY PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs.

Victoria):
o $63,350 - $98,800 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees.

Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. "
