DONATION PROCESSING CLERK - TERM POSITION

For this role, there's no such thing as being "too detailed"


The Donation Processing Clerk is responsible for highly accurate processing and management of information related to pledges and other donor information.

Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, and as a member of bargaining unit Unifor Local 191, the Donation Processing Clerk will support the peak period of United Way's annual campaign from September 25 to December 22, 2023.


Specifically, this position:

  • Opens pledge envelopes and enters various types of donor data and information into a revenue tracking system (United Way CRM) based on information provided from several sources.
  • Verifies inputted data for accuracy by carefully comparing it to source documents.
  • Resolves discrepancies in information and obtains further information for incomplete documents.
  • Prepares cash deposits.
  • Updates existing donor data with new demographic information.
  • Sorts and organizes paperwork for filing after entering data.
  • Reviews existing donor data in the system for ongoing accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

  • You are a team player who is very comfortable using technology and highly values confidentiality.

You also possess the following attributes:

  • An administrative assistant or office administration certificate/diploma and two years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Data entry experience
  • Highly accurate data entry/keyboarding skills
  • Computer software experience (including Excel, Word, and Outlook skills)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Understanding of following safe cash handling procedures
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with particular attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Able to occasionally work (paid) overtime for short amounts of time at the end of a busy day
  • Ability to be curious i.e. notice differences to assist with accurate updating
