Afternoon Dock Supervisor


Reports to:
Key Account Manager


Job Type:
Full Time - 3:30pm - 12:00am


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Optimization of staging/shipping performance and performance management of staff
  • Work closely with Administration to ensure the Outbound Customer shipping KPI requirements are on time, ensure all shipping documents are requested/provided, ensure proper communication to customer and Administration, manage handling of BOL's
  • Manage and engage in the development of completed order storage strategies to ensure timely delivery
  • To work in conjunction with the Inbound supervisor to supervise the day to day activities for inbound, receiving, returns and putaway within the 3PL Fulfillment Center.
  • Understanding of all Warehouse equipment, related systems and processes, to drive departmental efficiencies, support resolution of chronic issues, and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Execute on productivity and daily goals
  • Record and escalate process and performance issues as it pertains to your team.
  • Utilize superior communications skills to motivate staff and develop effective working relationships with peers.
  • Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse floor.
  • Ensure proper usage and maintenance of forklift equipment.
  • Communicating and coordinating with internal departments.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities and problemsolving initiatives.
  • Conduct performance reviews for all staff within the department.
  • Any other duties and tasks assigned.

Job Specifications (Knowledge, skills and abilities):

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership role preferably in a 3PL, order fulfillment environment
  • Effective communicator, calm and supportive in stressful situations
  • Experience with distribution centre processes (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns, value added processing);
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and cost structures
- knowledge of applicable health and safety standards

  • Superior planning and organizational skills; ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • Adept at problem solving, conflict resolution and implementing effective solutions
  • Flexible and creative in overcoming new challenges on a regular basis
  • Knowledge of RF Pathways considered an asset

Education:
Highschool or Post-Secondary


Experience:
