3D Curvature Estimation from a Single 2D Image — Exploratory

Job summary
We need to estimate 3D surface curvature of small curved objects from a single photo taken through a web browser.We're not sure this is fully possible with current technology given those constraints. If you have experience or ideas on how to accurately derive 3D surface geometry from a single 2D image at sub-millimeter accuracy we want to hear from you.
