Functional Role
The role of Accounts Payable is to pay only legitimate and accurate bills and invoices.

Before a vendor's invoice is entered into the accounting records and scheduled for payment, the invoice must reflect what the company has ordered, received, and the proper unit costs, calculations, totals, terms, etc.

Accounts Payable is required to perform all tasks in an effective, complete and professional manner and is responsible for adhering to all policies and values of Coastal Mountain Excavations Ltd.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and completion of college or other accounting courses is preferred
- knowledge of accounts payable and time sheets
- knowledge of general accounting procedures
- knowledge of relevant accounting software
- proficient in data entry and management

Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable must be familiar with relevant accounting procedures and software.

Lead, manage, accountability
Accountable to the Chief Financial Officer


Key Accountabilities

Accounts Payable is responsible for the following:

  • Review and verify invoices and check requests
  • Sort, code and match invoices.
  • Set invoices up for payment
  • Enter invoices into accounting system.
  • Track expenses and process expense reports.
  • Prepare and perform check runs.
  • Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain vendor files.
  • Correspond with vendors, respond to customer inquiries
  • Produce monthly reports.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Credit Card Reconciliation
  • Petty cash
  • Entering trucking and gravel slips

Non AP Duties

  • General Accounting/Admin duties as required including but not limited to helping prepare for the annual audit, helping with payroll, tax etc.

$22.00-$28.00 per hour
