Turning Point Youth Services, a multi-faceted and dynamic agency Accredited with Children's Mental Health Ontario, is committed to responding pro-actively and individually to the life challenges facing each of our clients.

We are actively seeking a qualified and dedicated staff member to join our mental health treatment program as an Awake Overnight Youth Worker.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct, quality care and supervision to youth in a residential environment.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the residents in the facility.
  • Complete reports and documentation as needed.
  • Participate in the daily operation of the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • University or College degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year relevant experience working with youth, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues and challenges facing our clients.
  • Appreciation of the importance of engaging youth and families from a strengthsbased relationship based approach
  • Sensitivity to and ability to work with a diverse client and staff group.
  • Good communication skills verbal and written.
  • Good administrative and computer skills.
  • Able to work well as part of a team.
  • Valid "Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour" certification.
  • Valid "First Aid/CPR" certification.
  • Completion of required suicide prevention and intervention training.
  • Full vaccination against COVID19 with a Health Canada approved vaccination series.
This is a collective bargaining unit position within CUPE Local 3501A.
