Turning Point Youth Services, a multi-faceted and dynamic agency Accredited with Children's Mental Health Ontario, is committed to responding pro-actively and individually to the life challenges facing each of our clients.
We are actively seeking a qualified and dedicated staff member to join our mental health treatment program as an Awake Overnight Youth Worker.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide direct, quality care and supervision to youth in a residential environment.
- Ensure the safety and security of the residents in the facility.
- Complete reports and documentation as needed.
- Participate in the daily operation of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University or College degree/diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year relevant experience working with youth, preferably in a residential setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues and challenges facing our clients.
- Appreciation of the importance of engaging youth and families from a strengthsbased relationship based approach
- Sensitivity to and ability to work with a diverse client and staff group.
- Good communication skills verbal and written.
- Good administrative and computer skills.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Valid "Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour" certification.
- Valid "First Aid/CPR" certification.
- Completion of required suicide prevention and intervention training.
- Full vaccination against COVID19 with a Health Canada approved vaccination series.
