The _Faculté de médecine vétérinaire _(FMV) of the _Université de Montréal_ is currently seeking qualified
capital of Quebec with inhabitants. The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from Montreal, a vibrant city
with an international airport and excellent flight connections to Europe, the USA. The FMV is also within
easy reach of the beautiful, historic Quebec City and Ottawa, the capital of Canada.


As a clinician, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculté de

médecine vétérinaire:

Through your teaching (for a maximum of 90% of the appointment), you will also ensure the visibility of your
discipline and your research activities in addition to actively participate in the operation of a renowned
institution (for a minimum of 10% of the appointment), As such, you will:


Participate in the teaching through provision of care and services meeting the different needs of the
ophthalmology service clientele; 

Participate in clinical teaching of interns and residents in ophthalmology; 

Supervise veterinary students and rotating interns and residents; 

Evaluate student learning; 
Provide educational advice and assistance to students.


To succeed in this role, you must have the following qualifications: 
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent; 
Completion of a formal residency training program in ophthalmology; 
Certification by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ACVO) or ECVO (European

College of Veterinary Ophthamology) board certification eligibility for certification of either college
and obtention of the certification within two (2) years following the start date; 

Work experience (possibly including work experience during residency) and interest in clinical
teaching of ophthalmology in an academic environment; 

Obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine issued by the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du
Québec; 

Have adequate knowledge of the French language or be committed to acquire the proficiency level
required, in accordance with Université de Montréal's Language Policy. An institutional learning

support program is offered to all professors wishing to learn French or improve their communication
skills.
