***: As a strong communicator, skilled financial analyst, and business partner in our Senior Management Group you will use critical thinking and astute problem-solving skills to lead Jo Anne's Place financial management functions. You will perform all accounting, payroll, payables, IT, and purchasing functions; maintain accurate reporting of Jo Anne's Place financial position, safeguard the assets and liabilities, detects trends and heightened profit possibilities, and implement/monitor financial policies that have been approved by the General Manager.
The Accounting Manager will be expected to demonstrate the embodiment of integrity, honesty, openness, personal excellence, continual self-improvement, mutual respect, integrity, discipline, and dedication of the very best professional management and leadership practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Jo Anne's Place Finances
- Manages the financial function of Jo Anne's Place.
- Reports to the General Manager.
- Performs Accounting, Payroll, Payables, Purchasing, and IT functions.
- Informs and advises other department heads about the financial aspects of their responsibilities.
- Monthly Cash Flow reports
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations to avoid fines.
- Submit reports to the General Manager and on request to the Senior Management Group.
- Provides data on trends and heightened profit possibilities and as well as reports requested by the General Manager.
- Prepare and present business cases and capital budgeting calculations.
Accounting
- Produces monthly financial reports and provides additional information and clarification to the General Manager; provides related advice.
- Monitors and investigates budget variances, highlighting issues/achievements affecting the EBITDA.
- Reviews balance sheet accounts monthly; brings to the General Manager's attention any issues with an impact on Jo Anne's Place assets and liabilities.
- Streamlines accounting procedures to reduce operating costs. And improve reporting efficiency.
- Prepares draft annual financial statements for review by the accountant of record.
- Ensures HST remittances are submitted on time.
- Prepares the income tax return for accounting firm as well as the annual EHT and WSIB returns.

- Oversees compliance to and development of purchasing policies and procedures.
- Oversees records management for the purchasing function.
Administers Banking Function
- Reviews the monthly bank reconciliation and addresses any unresolved issues promptly.
- Manages the cash flow to minimize interest charges.
- Negotiates and administers employee benefits and gathers information to assist the General Manager in making decisions about employee benefit plans.
- Monitors Capital Expenditures.
- Reviews all price quotations for projects tendering out and discusses with General Manager.
- Monitors all payments against the budget.
- Prepares reports to the General Manager and Senior Management Group.

- Verifying the taking of annual inventories and reporting outcome/issues to General Manager.
- Advises department managers to ensure their budget requests are reasonable and being adhered to.
- Completes draft budget package and review with General Manager and present to Senior Management Group.
- Works with the General Manager and departmental heads to plan and manage capital budgets and cash flow system.
Information and Technology (IT)
- Responsible for managing/updating/improving the Jo Anne's Place POS and CRM systems.
- Maintain an IT equipment inventory and ensuring its operation and update/replacement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
- CPA designation or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Business Administration or Financial Controlling/Accounting.
- Experience in a financial management and leadership role.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Highly selfmotivated individual who embraces a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Excellent communications skills, including the ability to provide data in a concise and appropriate manner, negotiation, and conflict management.
