Primary Focus:


The Bar One Manager is responsible for running the bar as a partner to our management personnel while upholding service and quality standards.


Scope:


The Bar One Managerreports to the General Manager, assists with the supervision of approximately crew members, and has a strong commitment to guest satisfaction and Bar One Core Values when interacting with others.


Duties and Accountabilities:


  • Oversees a shift by leading other hourly employees in execution of and adherence to brand standards
  • Coordinates and directs restaurant activities during the shift based on guest traffic flow
  • Monitors sales, employee hours, and guest counts throughout the shift to ensure proper staffing
  • Directs hourly employees to fulfill their job duties and priorities
  • Coaches employees on guest service skills, the service cycle, and other guest focused activities to meet or exceed guest service standards
  • Interacts with guests and inquiries about food and service
  • Addresses complaints promptly in a courteous manner and notifies the manager of any issues
  • Follows correct management cash handling procedures
  • Monitors employee break procedures to be sure breaks are taken as scheduled and according to federal, provincial or local regulations
  • Completes shift walkthroughs, and takes corrective actions when needed
  • Monitors interior and exterior of building for cleanliness, safety and appeal throughout shift
  • Uses proper procedures for handling guest and employee emergencies and security incidents
  • Maintains compliance with employment policies, to include all provincial, local and federal regulations
  • Works with management personnel to build strong team relationships and a positive work environment
  • Completes first interviews and works with the General Manager to fill all open service staff positions in Bar One.
  • Assists management staff with hourly employee training and development
  • Responsible for controlling liquor costs and labor costs within Bar One.
  • Must complete a liquor order each week, and manage inventory levels.
  • Performs an inventory count on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Completes Bar One schedules and assists the management personnel in ensuring we fill all shifts based on business needs.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in a fast-paced lounge environment with administrative office duties as required. Shifts may be scheduled on weekends, evenings, and holidays.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED certificate
Preferred to have Management Food Safety Certification

  • Consistently display can do attitude on a daily basis
  • Proven ability to problem solve and handle high stress situations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the restaurant both orally and in writing in the English language
  • Ability to read and implement instructions
  • Basic math and cash handling skills
  • Able to work around potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 50 lbs; place items on high and low shelves in office, store rooms, service areas, walkin coolers and freezers
  • Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work area.
  • Must work inside and outside
  • Must be able to observe staff and all aspects of restaurant operations
  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8 hour shift

From $47,000.00 per year
