    Description

    Responsibilities:

  • Help with events related to students in the DP programme
  • Encourage, support and ensure student accountability as described in the school Code of Conduct (punctuality, attendance, uniforms, and proper comportment).
  • Work closely with the Dean of Student, and in collaboration with the Executive Director of Citizenship and Global Education, promote and enhance student life programming at the Senior School.
  • Conduct teacher evaluations as per the performance review policy.
  • Work closely with teachers of Levels 3, 4 and 5 on their professional learning goals
  • Participate in the hiring process of teaching and support staff
  • Organize grade-level meetings and maintain permanent communication with parents.
  • Supervise assigned departments: organize meetings, support, advise, provide guidance, etc.
  • Work with various constituencies within the School, including Senior School Administration, the Head's Council, Branch Coordinators, parents, etc. as needed
  • In the absence of the Principal, the Vice-Principal may be in charge of the School and shall perform the duties of the Principal
  • Teaching and Learning portfolio

  • Ensure the effective integration of both the Ontario programs within the MYP-DP framework
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning
  • Implement the academic programme and projects in liaison with the Senior School Leadership Team and the Teaching and Learning Team
  • Implement both initiatives and best practices which will improve the learning experiences offered to our students as well as encourage academic ambition
  • Share with teachers the best practices, acting as a role model, in order to help them grow in their chosen field
  • Drive the implementation of the procedure on student progress
  • Supervise the development of the senior school's assessment policy along with its relevant procedures ensuring they are best practices
  • Manage student progress for Level IIl to Level V and communicate the relevant information to the concerned staff members so that they can support the students in their academic aspirations

  • Excellent French and English skills (oral and written)
  • Hold a university degree in education and certification as a teacher
  • Thorough understanding of the needs of Level 3, 4 and 5 students
  • Extensive knowledge of the MYP-IBDP program as well as the Ontario Curriculum
  • MYP-IBDP leadership experience or MYP-IBDP Coordinator certification is an asset
  • Proven excellence and experience in teaching, preferably at the intermediate- high school secondary level
  • Be able to inspire trust and confidence in working with members of the School community and effectively communicate the mission of TFS
  • Work collaboratively with administrators and teaching staff
  • Proven excellence in leadership, organizational, administrative and communication skills

  • Principal's Qualifications or registration in this programme and/or previous academic administrative experience
