As a working Supervisor at a single property, ensure daily work is scheduled and completed on time complying with environmental and safety regulations.

Performs a variety of Cemetery Maintenance work including operating machinery and manual labor. Train team on processes, procedures, equipment, and machinery providing constructive feedback. Build a trusting and reliable team.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Cemetery Maintenance

  • Perform and supervises cemetery maintenance and grounds keeping daily workload. Develop work schedule, set deadlines, and delegate assignments. Ensure cemetery services exceed customer expectations. Establish and communicate work, quality, and safety expectations. Coordinate staff work and timeoff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage and minimizing overtime; approve timecards.
  • Manage grounds keeping, landscaping, and seasonal plantings presenting a welcoming and manicured appearance of properties. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and wild life regulations.
  • Trains staff on cemetery maintenance and grounds keeping procedures, safety, and environmental regulations. Demonstrates proper operation of machinery and equipment. Recommends procedure revisions.
  • Order, store, and maintain sufficient inventory of tools, materials, equipment and lawn treatment. Review invoices for accuracy and resolve issues. Maintain equipment in proper working order.
  • Recommends and implements efficiencies. Supports change initiatives.

MINIMUM
Requirements
Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience

  • At least five (5) years cemetery maintenance experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Leadership experience a plus
  • New Construction / developmental experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Environment regulations as applicable to industry
  • Demonstrate knowledge of wild life regulations as applicable to industry
  • Demonstrate knowledge of staff and public safety regulations as applicable to industry
  • Clear verbal communication skills
  • Planning skills
