FUND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
This is a full-time position, based at our Edmonton office.

Position Description:


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fund Development Manager is responsible for building and maintaining relationships to ensure continued economic growth and feasibility of the Foundation.

Additionally, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and growth of a portfolio of new and existing Fund Development initiatives.


Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of donor management policy.
  • Development and implementation of a streamlined donor management process
  • Seeking out (often transactional) donors who have capacity for larger support, including major gifts and planned gifts, and pursuing potential relationship opportunities with purpose.
  • Managing existing and developing new personal relationships with donors and sponsors.
  • Identifying planned giving strategies and prospects while increasing awareness of the Foundation.
  • Managing prospective and active fundraising events; including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new prospects and existing donors and sponsors.
  • Working with Community Dreams Connector in the coordination and execution of firstparty and thirdparty events, both existing and new.
  • When required, engage and grow media presence of the Foundation and its events.
  • Engaging with the children and families in our Dreams Family.
  • Understanding major gift fundraising, donor appreciation and retention, and relevant CRA legislation.
  • General office duties, including but not limited to answering phones, bank deposits, ordering supplies, equipment management, and handling mail and enquiries.

Requirements:


  • Postsecondary degree in a relevant discipline, including Business, Marketing, Communications, and/or combination of education, experience, and training acceptable to the Foundation.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience of direct fundraising in a charitable organization. Related knowledge or exposure to event fundraising is required.
  • Intermediate level of experience in complexities of major gifts, their nuances, and resolutions.
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax receipting guidelines is an asset.
  • Previous experience in philanthropy is an asset.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, and a strong organizational ability are mandatory.
  • Ability to work competently in the Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat suite of products is an asset.
  • Familiarity with social media and contact management sites (e.g., Mailchimp) is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and social networking skills.
  • Must be able to work both independently and with a group.
  • Must be able to work nights/weekends as events require.
  • Must have a valid license and own transportation.
