Description

Position Overview:

The Shipper-Receiver is responsible for all functions and paperwork related to all incoming material to United Gear.

It will be the shipper's responsibility to ensure that the products received match the purchase orders and other paperwork provided for products shipped or received.

This position also requires deburring, packaging, and support cleaning tasks. Forklift, crane and basic rigging experience is preferred but not mandatory. Record digital images of customer products shipping or receiving. General computer and data entry are required in this position. Good verbal and written language skills are required for this position.


The Shipper-Receiver is also responsible for the packaging and crating/palletizing of manufactured goods to be delivered to customers and/or sub-contractors.

The Shipper communicates and records shipment information (such as weight and dimensions) to the Production Coordinator(s), as well as works to ensure all required packaging and crates are readily available through location management planning.


Essential Job Functions:


RECEIVING

  • Manages the placement of inventory in the various warehouses and yard.
  • Records and reviews quality and quantity of goods received for conformity to United Gear purchase order.
  • Provides all received documentation including waybills and certificates to the Purchasing Agent
  • Physically verifies the material received against the paperwork and Purchase Order and reports any discrepancies to the purchaser.
  • Files the accompanying shipment paperwork in an organized manner.
  • Move the received material to the appropriate location.
  • Loads/unloads shipments using forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks.
  • Maintains and organizes the receiving area.
  • Works closely with the Production Coordinator(s) to ensure ontime shipments.
  • Schedules daily pickups with various freight providers
  • Performs general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment.
  • Examines shipment contents and compares with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify the accuracy of shipment and free of any visible damage.

SHIPPING

  • Ensure parts are safe for handling and ready to ship.
  • Packing and preservation of finished and/or semifinished parts to ensure safe and secure transport to the customer/vendor.
  • Stages material for Machinists/Millwrights to keep a seamless workflow throughout the shop.
  • Communicates accurate weights and dimensions of finished goods being shipped to the Production Coordinator(s)
  • Helps maintain a clean shop by emptying chip bins, sweeping the shop floor, cleaning machines, and staying on top of general cleanup.
  • Adheres to shipping policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and completes appropriate documentation as required.
  • Works with shift supervisors to evaluate and adjust available picking, audit, and shipping capacity in order to maintain proper balance and workflow.
  • Performs other duties required to ensure the success of projects, individuals, and the company.

NOTES:


Current wage:
$25.00-$31.00 per hour.

Vacation: 3 weeks


Benefits:
Details will be provided and discussed at the time of the interview.

Overtime:
After 8 hour day or 5-day work week.

We do provide opportunities to work overtime.

As mentioned, the job would be a primarily shipper/receiver position.
