Accounting Administrator
Morgan Construction & Environmental Ltd. is an oilfield construction company based out of Edmonton, Alberta, with branches across the province. We are a heavy civil contractor with over 50 years of experience working for resource corporations throughout Western and Northern Canada. We are experienced in various sizes of projects, from small to large-and excel at completing our tasks within scheduled timeframes, on budget, and with the utmost workplace safety. Position Summary:
The Accounting Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of the company's accounting department for the Morgan Group of Companies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliations, complete with following up on outstanding items.
- Create and post monthly journal entries.
- Process intercompany billings
- Full cycle accounting for subsidiary and related companies
- Responsible for processing and managing all intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure rental company bank account has adequate funds to full fill monthly rental/lease commitments.
- Complete various analysis and reconciliations
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal/external customers and vendors.
- Work with Accounts Payable on various functions, including but not limited to statement reconciliation, coding, and data entry of invoices.
- Assemble financial data for reporting purposes.
- Prepare GST returns.
- Assist with yearend review.
- Manage accounting files for all subsidiary and related companies.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES
years' experience in general accounting
- High School Diploma with an Accounting Certificate and/or Diploma.
- Related experience preferably in a construction or oilfield environment. Equivalencies based on education and experience will be considered.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Promote positive relationships working in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with exposure to sensitive company information.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Proven organizational abilities.
- Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
- Detail and results oriented with the ability to multi task, and adhere to deadlines, even in high pressure situations.
Job Types:

Salary:
$50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
