Service Manager, AVS Department

Salary:
$70,000- $80,000/annually, based off of experience.

Location:


  • Greater Sudbury, ON: current resident or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years experience troubleshooting and installing one of the following;
  • P.A. Systems
  • CCTV
  • Security Systems
  • Nurse Call Systems or
  • Door Access Systems

Education:


  • High School Diploma
  • Vocational diploma, college certificate or diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation or related field

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install and repair Nurse call systems, CCTV systems, Public Address systems, Alarm systems
  • Knowledge of interpreting schematics
  • Organize and prioritize work
  • Analyze and resolve problems
  • Be responsible for equipment and vehicle
  • Take daily inventory of the equipment needed for the job
  • Work collaboratively with management and colleagues
  • Directly reporting to and assisting the Regional Service Manager with corporate contracts and initiatives
  • Indirectly reporting to the CEO and supporting the sales team to ensure your team is competent in security, access control, nurse call, public announcement systems and complimentary products for these markets
  • Provide leadership and mentor the technicians in your department
  • Provide training and support for your team
  • Achieve a high level of customer satisfaction from our technical operation
  • Scheduling your team and the oncall rotation as you deem fit to meet the needs of the business and the sales department
  • Project Management, including technical oversight for complex technical projects and in key accounts like Government, Enterprise accounts and municipalities
  • Regularly reviewing open orders with the assistance of the sales and office staff. At a minimum on a monthly basis.
  • Approval of absence requests and vacation planning
  • First Level Human Resource management (employee conflicts, hiring and disciplinary policy)
  • Oversee corporate contracts and performance
  • Ensure service department is profitable and achieves financial targets as communicated from the senior management team from time to time
  • Maintain certifications required for the lines we carry such as ascom, Frontrow, Carehawk, Motorola (Avigilon, Indigovision, Pelco), Resideo
  • Provide technical details and labour estimates to the sales department for quotes and RFP
  • Assist with warranty and RMA returns for products
  • Ensure your team has the latest tools, software and knowledge to complete the services asked of them
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:


  • Some IT networking & electrical experience an asset
  • Have steel toe safety boots and hard hat
  • Have own basic tools (screwdriver, wire cutters, drills, etc.)
  • A valid driver's license with acceptable driver abstract
  • Ability to work with small power tools, mechanically inclined
  • Ability to work in different weather conditions
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Ability to distinguish colors
  • Flexibility to work different schedules overtime and oncall
  • Excellent English communication skills, spoken and written
  • Awareness of occupational health and safety and quality of work
  • Must pass the security police check
  • Bondable
  • Some outoftown/overnight travel
