Job description
We are looking for a junior legal assistant to assist us in our established family law practice.

We are small two-lawyer firm and we greatly value a collegial work environment and we're looking for a self-motivated person to complement our team.

The position is full-time and the work hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., we are located at 460 West Hunt Club Road in Nepean.

While a large part of the job will be writing, organizing documents and filing, examples of typical tasks you may expect to do include:


  • Financial duties include: processing client payments, under supervision, taking responsibility for the partnership's office expenses and managing the partnership's (nontrust) bank accounts by acquiring new services, paying bills and corresponding with service providers;
  • Technical: drafting legal documents, filing documents in court, arranging for a process server, performing legal research, logging time sheets and producing draft invoices.
Experience in an office setting is an asset. Completion of a post-secondary degree from a Canadian University is required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and acts professionally;
  • Strong computer skills and English language ability;
  • Takes initiative and can work independently; and,
  • Exercises good judgement and understands when to seek direction from us.

Salary:
$35,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
