You have:


  • Current enrollment in a postsecondary education in computer science/technology support or related field
  • Full time availability for the duration of the term required to be eligible for this opportunity
  • Strong interest in automation technology and standards
  • Creative thinking and problem solving to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Open communication an ability to clearly convey thoughts, both written and verbally and proactive in asking questions to seek clarification and understanding
  • Selfmotivation, able to manage competing priorities and work with mínimal supervision
  • A willingness to embrace collaborative sharing of ideas and solutions to technology challenges within a team environment
  • The ability to perform duties off hours and on an oncall basis as required

Nice to have:


  • Knowledge of Open System Interconnection (OSI) model, scripting languages, virtualization and cloud technologies
  • An understanding of agile methodology

What you will do:


  • Provide operational and technical infrastructure support of new and enhanced systems, sub systems and services
  • Log, triage and draft responses to service requests and incidents in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
  • Assist in developing code to automate processes, including monitoring, logging and infrastructure as code
  • Provide configuration support of cloud infrastructure and ensure connectivity of all types of workstation operating systems used by MPAC
  • Assist in building new servers and deploying software to the new server in a cloud environment
  • In collaboration with the IT team, perform troubleshooting, issues resolution and support to front line staff in their daily use of technology and systems
  • Provide support in User Maintenance (setup/move/remove computers, monitors, telephones) and with the installation/upgrading/uninstallation of software
