    Description

    Overview

    Reporting to the CFO, the Manager, Risk Management & Internal Audit provides leadership at the operational level and is an integral member of the Finance management team and the risk governance team, responsible for planning and executing risk assessments, internal audit and risk mitigation projects, internal control assignments and related projects. Demonstrating a strong financial acumen, attention to detail and accuracy, confidence based on job-knowledge, a positive attitude, excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet strict deadlines.

    The Manager is responsible for the administration, development, analysis and management of the Corporation's insurance programs including the key representative with the Corporation's insurance brokers.

    Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the Corporation's risk matrix. Work to reduce the Corporation's risk profile.
  • Review and advise on contractual agreements to reduce and/or mitigate contractual risk.
  • Negotiate and manage the Corporation's insurance portfolio.
  • Manage and complete insurance claims.
  • Develop and complete the Corporation's internal audit program.
  • Undertake ad-hoc audits or investigations initiated by the CEO, CFO or Board of Directors.
  • Qualifications

  • Degree in a business field (finance, accounting or economics), OR a designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Charted Professional Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • Five years of audit experience in accounting firm or industry and/or progressive risk management required.
  • Experience with insurance and insurance claims is an asset.
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Excel and proven experience working with large volumes of data
  • Experience working in a government, Crown Corporation or utility environment is an asset
  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint to prepare presentation materials
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Dynamics Great Plains software is beneficial
  • Must undergo a successful criminal background check.
  • Salary for this position ranges from $55.55/hr-$73.18/hr., plus location and accommodation allowance of approximately $8,023 per annum. We offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes health and dental benefits, long-term disability, life insurance, paid sick days and a defined benefits pension plan.
