Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

• General supervisory duties: assign tasks, review quality, provide corrective actions to employees
• Check and record pH/E.C. daily.
• Communicate with crop scouts and assess issues within the crops.
• Check greenhouse climate and irrigation daily
• Receive the orders of fertilizers and mix of fertilizers, ensure the proper disposal of containers and keep the Fertilizer Room clean and organized.
• Control the Inventory of Personal Protective Equipment such as spray suits, masks, gloves, etc.
• Communicate to the Head Grower any indications of pests and diseases.
• Support the jobs of cleaning, disinfection and planting of the Greenhouses at the end/beginning of each crop cycle
• Provide onthejob training for greenhouse workers, as necessary.
• Must promote a safe workplace environment.
• Maintain high standards of conduct and professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Workplace conditions and requirements;

• Work is physically demanding, fast paced and climates can vary from warm to cold.
• Environment can at times be humid.
• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time; bending, crouching, kneeling.
• Previous work experience in a greenhouse is considered an asset.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral and spoken) in English; additional languages (i.e. Spanish, will be considered an asset).
• Typical work hours are Monday
• Friday 7am 5:30pm, must be willing to work on a rotational weekend schedule with other growers.
• Must possess or be able to acquire a pesticide license.

Salary:

- $40,000 - $80,000 based on experience.
