This position is full time 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and is not eligible for remote work.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise facilities team
  • Implement and monitor the preventative maintenance program to ensure the maintenance is performed as planned on buildings and building systems throughout the campus
  • Diagnose nonroutine problems to facilitate emergency repairs and maintenance as required
  • Responsible for campus security systems, including distribution of and maintaining log of keys, access cards, alarm codes, and liaising with the security provider, etc.
  • Liaise with fire and police departments
  • Coordinate and oversee the activities of external contractors; including cleaners, gardeners, and tradespeople, ensuring their work meets satisfactory standards.
  • Manage followup procedures to guarantee the completion of tasks according to established expectations with external contractors
  • Manage contractors for significant repairs and the replacement of building components
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the school and external contractors to ensure timely and quality completion of projects
  • Liaise with architects, consultants, and contractors regarding existing and new building infrastructure as needed
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Ensure required training for team members is completed/up to date
  • Manage budgets related to facility maintenance and improvements
  • Collaborate with other departments to support the logístical requirements for school events and activities
  • Other duties assigned as required

Requirements:


  • 5+ years of related experience at a manger level
  • Proven supervisory experience, showcasing effective leadership in overseeing teams and managing daytoday operations
  • Indepth knowledge of building operations and facilities, including expertise in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), DDC (Direct Digital Control), and other relevant systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings, sketches, and specifications, enabling effective communication with architects and contractors
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management, ensuring timely and successful completion of facilityrelated projects
  • The ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic work environment, adjusting schedules as needed to meet operational requirements
  • Adept problemsolving and analytical skills, enabling effective troubleshooting and decisionmaking in various facilitiesrelated scenarios
  • Physical capability to lift and move heavy objects as required for maintenance and operational needs
  • Comprehensive knowledge and adherence to Workplace Compensation Board (WCB) regulations and safety protocols
  • BOMI (Building Owners and Managers Institute) Certification or equivalent training an asset
  • Previous experience with EFMA (Educational Facilities Managers Association) an asset
  • Hold a satisfactory criminal reference check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General

Employment and Application Details:


This role is scheduled to start in early spring to allow sufficient handover with the current Manager who is retiring.

Compensation:
$77,000 - $95,000.
