City Experiences is seeking a Kitchen Supervisor for our Niagara City Cruises operation in Niagara Falls.

About the Opportunity:
The
Kitchen Supervisor will work with the Food & Beverage Manager and is responsible for back of house operations including all food production for the food trailer, catered in house & VIP events, development of menus, food purchase specifications and recipes.
The Kitchen Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining food and labour costs, maintaining all company standards and adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcome work environment for all employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and assess cook performance and daily activities
- Responsible for the ordering and inventory of food and kitchen supplies
- Conducts inventory counts as required and restock all items
- Ensure that all food products are handed, prepared, and served in accordance with food safety guidelines
- Keeps food waste to a minimum, ensuring proper rotation, labelling, and storing of all food products
- Follow all food safe handling procedures, regulatory and ministry compliance
- Support kitchen operations by performing daily cook duties when additional coverage is required or volumes are at a peak
- Ensuring opening and closing duties are completed daily
- Ensure kitchen is clean, organized, and all equipment is in running condition
- Ensure that the morale of the kitchen staff is maintained by practicing positive strategies to motivate staff, encourage selfesteem and efficiency
- Ensuring that food and labour cost is matching the targets set by management
- Maintain open communication with management and employees to ensure a positive work environment and high levels of engagement
- Follow all Niagara City Cruises policies and standards
- Work in a manner to ensure continuous improvement and quality within the department
- Enhances the Niagara City Cruises name and reputation by delivering quality service and adhering to the Crew Handbook
- Executes consistent standards to exceed guest expectations
- Holds crew members accountable for consistent guest service engagement
- Attends to guest comments and complaints in a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring employee training is completed for new hires and recurrent as set by company standards
- Answers all work related questions from employees
- Recruits, hires, trains, coach crew members for the kitchen, in accordance with company HR and ISO systems
- Completes weekly schedules including approving time off and processing scheduling changes in scheduling system
- Schedules daily tasks for departmental employees
- Communicates quality improvements suggestions of processes, product, and procedures to Manager and/or Director of Department and ISO/Respect/Training for assessment, implementation, and documentation for process management and continual improvement
- Provides and communicates preshift meetings daily for onsite staff, participates in all relevant meetings based on invitation
- Maintains a neat, clean, and wellgroomed appearance
- Advises manager and Human Resources of any changes to personal information
- Maintains applicable licenses and certifications.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- O.S.S.D or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
- Minimum 3 years' work experience in a customer servicerelated management role, preferably in a food and beverage environment
- Experience leading or supervising a team of 10 or more
- Experience with cash control, reconciling outofbalance conditions, and investigating discrepancies
- Smart Serve Certificate
- Food Handlers Certification
- Strong leadership, customer service, organizational, and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written, oral, and listening) including conflict resolution
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs
- Familiar with Alcohol and Food regulations, laws, and practices
- Knowledge of another language in addition to English is an asset
- A positive attitude and good work ethic
- Must be able to work all shifts including days, weekends and holidays
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 35 pounds (16 kilograms)
- Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
- Continually and repeatedly perform functions indoors and outdoors
- If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. nonslip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun
