Summary

The
Wholesale Buyer has the main objective of acquiring saleable pre-owned vehicles that will contribute to the growth and profitability of the department, store, and company.

They also deal with a range of tasks, including working with department managers to find ways to build sales, and manage the inventory.


Responsibilities

  • Purchase of saleable CPO product for retail at the store
  • Utilize sales data to manage, develop, and serve existing wholesale accounts
  • Identify and convert new account opportunities for the business
  • Import/Export of vehicles
  • Be the "expert" on wholesale matters
  • Set up all thirdparty wholesale auctions in all markets
  • Establish the Lithia Wholesale fee structure at all auctions
  • Represent all auction sales when available or online outlets
  • Shipping & Title Reports. Train the UCM's on how to "Ready" the units for shipping to the auction
  • Train the UCM's to inspect and detail all wholesale units before they are shipped
  • Monitor the shipping of all units to the sale
  • Monitor the status of all ownerships for wholesale units. All units must have the title before it can be sold
  • Oversee and "Stage" all units for run blocks at Auction
  • Develop Lithia "Green Light" sales as determined by the Group Leaders
  • Oversee and assist the stores in handling all auction arbitration.
  • Monitor the auctions as to our agreements.
  • Monitor Lithia sale rate and profit analysis at all wholesale auction

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous automotive or retail buying experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Sense of urgency takes initiative
  • Excellent communication
  • Proficient in analyzing used vehicle values, seasonality and forecasting the market
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Used vehicle management experience. Minimum of 2 years experience is required
  • Auction buying and selling experience. Minimum of 2 years experience is required
