What do you offer?


Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Personal Trainer assesses, discusses, motivates, and teaches individuals and couples how to improve their fitness, strength, physique, and overall health.

The Personal Trainer is tasked with identifying the Members' goals and developing a targeted personalized program that combines exercise, and lifestyle resources.

This position creates a program that is challenging and motivating, that the Member is capable of following when exercising alone.

This position ensures the Member has the resources necessary to make use of their membership on a regular basis, and to achieve their goals.

The Personal Trainer monitors and tracks the Member's progress through the program and adapts it as necessary to continuously challenge the Member.

This involves demonstrating the correct technique and form for each exercise to minimize the risk of injury and improve overall fitness, as well as observing the Member perform the exercise with the intent of offering constructive feedback.


The Personal Trainer presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times and ensures excellent customer service is provided by addressing questions, concerns, or issues and escalating them to the Program Director as necessary.

This position monitors facility use to ensure that rules, regulations, and etiquette are followed and that cleanliness and order are well maintained.

This position ensures that health and safety regulations and YMCA policies and procedures are upheld at all times.

The Personal Trainer ensures that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of the NCR are conveyed to members, program participants, staff and volunteers with every interaction.
